Application process
Application forms will be shortlisted against the Technical and Behavioural Competencies of a PCSO. You should therefore complete the application form fully and carefully, with examples. Successful candidates will then be invited to a competency-based interview.
PCSOs do not have to meet the same fitness requirements as regular officers – you only need to pass a basic medical examination. However, this can at times be a physical role, so we would advise you to take regular exercise and stay in shape.
You'll also need to satisfy security requirements which will include supplying references.
If we're happy that you meet all the criteria for the role, you'll then be invited onto the next available training course.
